It was bound to happen eventually, and it finally did last Wednesday evening:

Alabama basketball suffered its first SEC loss of the season.

The Crimson Tide fell 68-59 on the road at Tennessee, breaking its perfect conference record and bringing it to 12-1. However, Alabama bounced back on Saturday by decimating Georgia at Coleman Coliseum, 108-59. For now, the Crimson Tide maintains a one-game lead over Texas A&M with four games left to play.

The Aggies have the easier of the two schedules remaining when compared to the Crimson Tide. Texas A&M defeated Tennessee on Tuesday night, and now has back-to-back road trips at Mississippi State and Ole Miss before it hosts Alabama in the regular-season finale — a game that could decide the conference should the gap between the two be maintained or should Alabama lose a game.

The Crimson Tide's is far more difficult. While Alabama plays at South Carolina on Wednesday, it then hosts Arkansas and Auburn back-to-back before traveling to Bryan-College Station.

The conference is coming down to the wire after what has been a remarkable season in the SEC.

Without further ado, here's the latest Power Rankings with just several games left of the regular season:
