2023 Basketball Prospect Kris Parker to Announce Decision March 3
Alabama basketball might be making a late addition to the 2023 recruiting class as Kris Parker is set to announce his college decision March 3.
Parker, who stands at 6 feet, 6 inches and weighs 170 pounds, plays for Crossroad Academy in Quincy, Fl. In addition to Alabama, the 4-star prospect is also considering UCF, Villanova and SEC counterpart Missouri.
He is the No. 10 prospect in the state of Florida and the No. 20 small forward according to 247Sports, making him the highest-ranked prospect of either distinction that isn't signed.
Looking at his tape, Parker loves the mid-range jumper. Unlike current Alabama guard Jahvon Quinerly, he breaks down his defender with slower off-the-dribble moves to get to his spot.
Nate Oats is not a fan of those types of shots, especially the contested ones that Parker takes. But the positive takeaway is that Parker is someone who can get his own shot, which is a need for any team.
Parker can also shoot from deep, and he gets a lot of elevation that makes his shot hard to reach for defenders.
At his height, Parker would give Alabama more size on the perimeter, similar to fellow Alabama signee Sam Walters.
Parker would be the fourth signee of the 2023 class for Alabama should he sign, joining Walters, Mouhamed Dioubate and R.J. Johnson.
