Alabama Basketball Up to No. 3 in Latest AP Top 25, Coaches Poll

The Crimson Tide moved up one spot in the AP Top 25 and two in the Coaches Poll after taking care of business against Vanderbilt and at LSU.

Alabama moved up one spot to No. 3 in the latest AP Top 25 on Monday and two spots to No. 3 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll. The Crimson Tide received one first-place vote in the Top 25 after winning two games last week over Vanderbilt and LSU.

Above Alabama in the AP Top 25 are Purdue at No. 1 and Houston at No. 2. The Boilermakers received 38 first-place votes, while Houston received 22. Arizona, who is ranked No. 4, also received a single first-place vote.

Around the rest of the Southeastern Conference, Tennessee is the only other ranked team at No. 6. Auburn fell out of the Top 25 but received 65 voting points. Arkansas received 11 points, Missouri six 6 and Kentucky 1.

In the Coaches Poll, Alabama also received one first-place vote. Tennessee is once again the only other ranked SEC team, coming in at No. 5. Despite their ranking, the Volunteers received two first-place votes.

Auburn received 43 voting points, Kentucky 11 and Missouri 4.
