Alabama Center Charles Bediako Invited to G League Elite Camp
After signing with an NCAA certified agent and entering his name in the upcoming NBA Draft, Alabama center Charles Bediako has earned an invitation to the NBA G League Elite Camp, per DraftExpress' Jon Chepkevich.
The camp is held in Chicago, Illinois, and will take place from May 13-14. It gives NBA Draft prospects a chance to showcase their skills and talents in front of scouts from both the NBA and the G League, as well as front office executives and coaches.
The camp provides an opportunity for some of the best performers to earn an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine, which is held immediately after from May 16-18 also in Chicago.
Bediako was one of the most improved players on the Alabama roster last season, becoming one of the best rim protectors in not only the SEC, but in all of college basketball by the conclusion of the Crimson Tide's historic year.
He averaged 6.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game on the year, and earned SEC All-Defensive Team and SEC All-Tournament Team honors for his play.
Bediako was one of five Alabama players to enter their names in the NBA Draft, joining Brandon Miller, Noah Clowney, Jahvon Quinerly and Mark Sears. Bediako, Quinerly and Sears all maintained their college eligibility, keeping the option open to return to school.
The Crimson Tide's three players testing the draft waters have until May 31 to decide whether to stay in the draft or return to Tuscaloosa next season.
