TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama football received good news on the injury front on Monday night as defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe announced that he has been cleared after suffering a neck injury last season.

Eboigbe made the announcement via social media:

Eboigbe suffered the neck injury last fall and did not return to the field after appearing in the first four games of the season for the Crimson Tide. Following the injury, head coach Nick Saban revealed that Eboigbe underwent a procedure to help his recovery process.

“I think that he had a procedure done that would enhance his opportunity to be able to play in the future, but I don’t think that that’s gonna come this season," Saban said.

Following the conclusion of Alabama's 2022 season in the Sugar Bowl, Eboigbe tweeted on Jan. 10 that he would be returning to play for the Crimson Tide for his fifth season in 2023. At the start of spring practices, Saban noted that Eboigbe would be dealing with his injury during the spring along with six other players. However, in the photos released by Alabama Athletics on Monday, Eboigbe was shown to be one of the players participating. You can check out the photo at the top of this page.

Alabama is slated to return to the field for its seventh of 14 spring practices on Wednesday, April 5.
