Alabama Crimson Tide Top 5 in the NFL: The Titans' King Rules Week 6

A look at the top five performances by former Crimson Tide football players during Week 6 of the 2020 NFL Season

It's pretty obvious which former Alabama player had the best performance during Week 6 of the NFL season, although a former teammate nearly caught him Monday night.

Here's the top five:

5] Cam Sims, WR, Washington

The wide receiver scored his first touchdown, on a 22-yard completion with 36 seconds remaining agains the Giants. However, Washington couldn't convert the two-point conversion and took a 20-19 loss to New York.

4] Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Steelers

We. Love. Defensive. Touchdowns.

3] Julio Jones, WR, Falcons

Had eight catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings.

They were also his first two touchdowns of the season as the Falcons notched their first win.

2] Kenyan Drake, RB, Cardinals

The running back had 20 carries for 164 yards and two touchdowns, including a 69-yard run up the middle to put the  Monday Night Football game against the Cowboys out of reach.

1] Derrick Henry, RB, Titans

His stat line against the Texans: 212 rushing yards, 9.6 yards per carry, 52 receiving yards, two touchdowns.

He became the first player in NFL history to record a game with 200-plus rushing yards in a game three consecutive seasons.

"I mean, just obviously we all witnessed somebody taking a game over when we had it," Titans coach Mike Vrabel said of Henry. "He put us on his back and carried us."

The NFL's leading rusher from 2019 has 588 yards and six touchdowns in just five games this season.

Meanwhile, no other former Crimson Tide player had more than 23 rushing yards on Sunday, and that was by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Our favorite moment, though came after Tua Tagovailoa had his first NFL completion with the Miami Dolphins.

The play wasn't anything spectacular, a 2-yard completion to running back Patrick Laird on second-and-9 snap at the Miami 8-yard line.

After the game, he went back on to the field and sat down at the 15. What was he doing? Calling his parents.

“I think the biggest thing that stands out to me is just being able to make my parents proud, whether that’s Tua as a football player, Tua as a person, Tua as a son, I think that’s what brings me the most joy, seeing how happy my parents get and then how happy my family gets as well with who I am and also what I do,” Tagovailoa later said.

Top 5 Alabama Players in the NFL will appear every Tuesday on BamaCentral, and as part of The Jay Barker Show.
