Alabama Head Soccer Coach Wes Hart on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 62: Aug. 17, 2023

The Alabama soccer program opens its season on Thursday after a historic run in 2022.

It's a huge Thursday on "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" as we're joined by Alabama head soccer coach Wes Hart. 

Hart enters his ninth season in charge of the Crimson Tide program and has been steadily building and improving year after year. Alabama won the 2022 SEC regular season championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Final Four for its best season ever.

We welcome Coach Hart as we seek to find out how he intends to build off the momentum he's already established.

Hart detailed his playing career, from his stellar high school and college career to his time playing professionally in the MLS with the Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes.

The reigning SEC Coach of the Year discussed the challenges he faced, building the Crimson Tide program from the ground up, after having significant success at Florida State as an assistant.

Hart discussed his approach to coaching and credited his playing days and his time as an assistant for developing a high pressure style that scores tons of goals. Alabama led the NCAA last season with 76 goals scored.

Alabama enters the 2023 season with a top-ten ranking and was picked to finish second in the SEC by the coaches. Hart spent time previewing his 2023 team and discussing the Thursday night opening game agains DePaul as well.
