Alabama added to its gold medal tally and improved yet another school record on day three of the Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in College-Station, Texas, Thursday. Charlie Hawke and Rhyan White highlighted the third day’s action by grabbing gold (200 freestyle) and bronze (100 butterfly), respectively.

Hawke won the men’s 200 freestyle by bettering his own school record with the fastest time in the nation this season. With her third-place finish, White has now reached the podium in four-straight championships in the 100 butterfly.

The Tide closed the third day with the women in seventh place with 364 points, while the men’s squad is sixth with 354 points.

Head Coach Margo Geer Said:

“We had another strong showing today, filled with some big moments. Having two all-time top-10 swims in the first heat of the night got us off to a great start, setting the tone for the session. Having three girls in the 100 fly was big for us, especially making the podium for the fourth-straight season. Seeing that performance followed up by the men with another all-time top-10 swim was really awesome as well. Closing the night with four guys scoring in the 200 freestyle, including getting the win, was huge for us. It was a great way to end the night and we’re looking forward to a great day tomorrow.”
