BamaCentral Courtside: No. 18 Alabama 104, Jacksonville State 62

The BamaCentral writers break down the action from Coleman Coliseum after another impressive win for the Crimson Tide.

Nate Oats has been saying all year that the shooting would come for Alabama basketball

We saw glimpses of it against Liberty and South Alabama, but the Crimson Tide showed what it's really capable of from behind the 3-point line Friday night.

Alabama shot 21-of-46 from beyond the arc on the way to a 104-62 win over Jacksonville State in front of 9,018 fans at Coleman Coliseum. Seven different players hit a 3-pointer for the Crimson Tide, including seven from Brandon Miller and five from Nimari Burnett.

So far this season, the Crimson Tide has been one of the best defensive teams in the country, but Jacksonville State was also nailing shots early on. Oats challenged his team at halftime, and the players responded by holding the Gamecocks to 23 points in the second half.

Alabama had a season high in assists and still had 19 offensive rebounds despite shooting the ball so well.

This was the last opportunity for Alabama to straighten things out before entering the heart of a tough non-conference schedule next week, starting with Michigan State in the Phil Knight Invitational Thursday night.
