TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — And that's a wrap on the Southeastern Conference regular-season title.

On Wednesday evening at Coleman Coliseum, No. 2 Alabama basketball overcame a 17-point deficit in the second half to send the game into overtime against in-state rival Auburn. The Crimson Tide ultimately beat the Tigers 90-85, clinching the regular-season SEC title and the 1-seed in next week's SEC Tournament.

Jahvon Quinerly was the hero of the night for Alabama, scoring 24 points and recording six assists along with three steals while not turning over the ball a single time.

Mark Sears, Noah Clowney and Brandon Miller finished the game with 17 points apiece.

Following the game, Nate Oats discussed how happy he is for his players considering all of the adversity the team has gone through in recent weeks.

“I just couldn’t be more proud of this group, to be honest with you," Oats said. "Obviously, it’s a heartbreaking situation that’s never lost on us, but the kids have worked really hard. Winning the SEC is not an easy thing to do. Look at the teams in this league. It’s a great league. I just can’t tell you how proud I am of this group this year.”

Alabama will conclude its regular season on Saturday at Texas A&M (11 a.m. CT, CBS).
