Alabama freshman forward Brandon Miller has received his first national award, being named a first-team All-American by the Sporting News. Miller was the only freshman to be named to the first, second, or third team.

Miller, who was recently named the SEC's Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and received first-team honors, leads the conference in scoring with 19.6 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field, 40 percent on 3-pointers and 85 percent from the free-throw line.

The No. 4 Crimson Tide won't play again until Friday at Noon CT on ESPN. Alabama holds the top seed in the SEC Tournament and will play the winner of Mississippi State and Florida.
