DeVonta Smith is the Bama Central Crimson Tide Athlete of the Week

The senior wide receiver tied Amari Cooper with most receiving touchdowns in Alabama program history

Alabama senior wide receiver DeVonta Smith is the Bama Central Crimson Tide Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

This past Saturday against Mississippi State in Bryant-Denny Stadium, Smith hauled in 11 catches for 203 yards and four touchdowns. His last touchdown tied him with Amari Cooper for the most receiving touchdowns in Crimson Tide program history with 31.

His route-running even had junior wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who is now out for the season with an ankle injury that required surgery, impressed on the sidelines.

Smith is now also the only wide receiver in SEC history to record two games with four or more touchdown receptions, with his last four-plus touchdown game being against Ole Miss in 2019 where he recorded five touchdowns.

Congratulations to DeVonta Smith for his efforts.
