DeVonta Smith is this week's Bama Central Crimson Tide Athlete of the Week

The Crimson Tide senior wide receiver did as he pleased in a solid outing against the Georgia Bulldogs this past Saturday

Alabama senior wide receiver DeVonta Smith is the Bama Central Crimson Tide Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 12-18.

Against a top-tier Georgia Bulldogs defense this past Saturday night in Bryant-Denny Stadium, Smith accounted for 11 receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns. In total, Smith was targeted 13 times and averaged 15.2 yards per reception.

Smith's highlight of the game came in the fourth quarter, a 13-yard touchdown reception in the back of the end zone that put Alabama up 41-24 and sealed the deal for the Crimson Tide win.

1. Mac Jones (football quarterback, redshirt-junior)

  • Finished 24-for-32 with 417 yards and four touchdowns against a top-tier Georgia defense
  • Also through one interception in the first quarter but finished the game with a 219.5 quarterback rating

2. Najee Harris (football running back, senior)

  • Rushed 152 yards on 31 carries against Georgia on Saturday
  • Also acquired one touchdown in the Crimson Tide's victory over the Bulldogs

3. Vanesa Nikolovova (women's tennis, freshman)

  • Finished the final day of the Hail State Classic with two wins, one on singles and one on doubles with partner Anna Parkhomenko
  • Defeated Ole Miss' Alexa Bortles 7-5, 6-0 in singles before defeating Lilian Gabrielsen/Reka Zadori 6-2 in doubles

4. Will Reichard (football place kicker, sophomore)

  • Nailed a 52-yard field goal at the tail-end of the first half to pull Alabama within four points and give the Crimson Tide the momentum heading into the locker room
  • Also hit a 33-yard field goal earlier in the second quarter, making Reichard 30-for-30 so far on field goals and extra points this season
