The road to the championship game got a little more difficult, but the University of Alabama softball team knows exactly what it'll take as the bracket for the 2023 SEC Softball Tournament was released Sunday evening.

As the No. 5 seed, Alabama will open play on Wednesday at 4 p.m. CT against the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between Mississippi State and Missouri. The first three days of the tournament will be shown on the SEC Network, with the semifinals and title game slated for ESPN2.

The tournament will be played at Bogle Park in Fayetteville, Ark., with first-round games set for Tuesday, and the championship scheduled for Saturday.

No. 13 seed Missouri and No. 12 seed Mississippi State will play on Tuesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to face the Crimson Tide the following day. The winner of that game will advance to face tournament host and fourth-seeded Arkansas on Thursday, May 11 at 4 p.m.

Alabama and Arkansas finished tied for fourth in the regular-season standings at 14-10, after both teams lost on Sunday. The Crimson Tide is 38-17 overall.

Alabama owns a 44-27 (.620) all-time record in the SEC Tournament, including a 40-24 (.625) mark under Head Coach Patrick Murphy.
