Live Updates: Alabama Baseball vs. Southern Miss
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— After losing the weekend series against Mississippi State, Alabama baseball is back in action inside Sewell-Thomas Stadium as it prepares to take on the University of Southern Mississippi.
Brad Bohannon's squad comes in with a 23-10 record, including a 4-8 record in SEC play. The Tide has had games against conference opponents where it looks really strong, but inconsistent play has kept the team from winning a weekend series to date.

Jacob McNairy will take the mound for the Crimson Tide. He has gone 4-1 in his seven previous starts and has totaled 25 strikeouts with only four walks.
Southern Miss comes into the game with a 19-11 record, including a 7-5 conference record. In the most recent weekend series, the Golden Eagles won the series against Georgia Southern.
Their best hitter is junior Slade Wilks, who is the designated hitter today. In 30 games, Wilks has a batting average of .355 with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs, all of which lead the team.
Freshman JB Middleton takes the mound for his first start of the season. In six appearances, Middleton has an ERA of 9.82, giving up eight runs, two walks and striking out 11 batters this season.
Alabama and Southern Miss will meet for the 108th time in history when the two teams square off on Tuesday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide owns the all-time series advantage, 74-33, including a 47-14 mark at home. The Tide and Golden Eagles met last season on March 16 in Hattiesburg with USM claiming a 3-2 win.
Alabama last hosted Southern Miss at The Joe on March 23, 2021. That game went in favor of the Golden Eagles, 5-4.
