Live Updates: Alabama Men's Golf in NCAA Championships (Stroke Play)
It's the end of the the road for the men's golf season as the 2023 Division I Men's Golf Championship is under way at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Through two rounds, Alabama was at +12, but tied for ninth.
Playing for the Crimson Tide, in reverse order, are JP Cave, Jonathan Griz, Thomas Ponder, Nick Dunlap and Canon Claycomb.
Jones Free is serving as the team’s alternate
Scottsdale is projecting between 93-101 degrees with sunny and clear skies through Wednesday.
The 2023 NCAA Championship
Who: Alabama men's golf is one of 30 teams that advanced by placing in the top five of six regionals. The Crimson Tide won the Norman Regional in Oklahoma.
When: May 26-31
Where: Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona (Par 70, 7,289 yards)
Format: Three days of stroke play Friday-Sunday (54 total holes), after which the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will be determined. After the final day of 18 holes of stroke play on Monday the top eight teams will advance to match play. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals on Tuesday, May 30, with the finals Wednesday.
TV: The Golf Channel will broadcast the following:
- 4 p.m. CT on Monday: Final round/individual stroke play
- 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday: Quarterfinals team matches; semifinal team matches
- 4 p.m. on Wednesday: National championship team match
