Live Updates: Alabama Softball Saturday Doubleheader

Scores, stats and updates as Alabama will play its second doubleheader of the Leadoff Classic against Georgia Southern and Lehigh.

TUSCALOOSA. Ala. — After splitting the first two games of the Leadoff Classic, Alabama softball returns to the field for another doubleheader. The first game will be against Georgia Southern and the second will be against Lehigh University.

In the Crimson Tide's first game against Georgia Southern, the team scored all eight of its runs in the fourth and fifth innings to defeat the Eagles 8-2.  Larissa Preuitt and Kali Heivilin provided most of the offense, batting in a combined seven RBIs. Montana Fouts pitched a complete game and finished with 16 strikeouts.

Alabama's first game against Lehigh was a different story, however. The game was tied 4-4 going into the top of the 7th, but Lehigh scored three runs in the final frame to defeat the Tide 7-4.

• Cahalan scores on an inside-the-park home run, driving in three runs. Score is 13-1 Alabama

• Hensley flies out, but Johnson was able to score on the sacrifice. 10-1 Alabama

• Duchscherer is walked, loading the bases for a third time. Hensley, who led off the inning, is up to bat again

• Heivilin hit a single then stole second. Abby Duchscherer is pinch-hitting for Preuitt

• Johnson hits the ball down the left field line for a bases-clearing double. Score is 9-1 Alabama with Heivilin up to bat and still only one out

• Barnhart is hit by pitch, putting her on first and loading the bases once again. Jenna Johnson is up to bat

• Aubrey Barnhart is pinch-hitting for Broadfoot. Score is 6-1 Alabama, still with only one out.

• Georgia Southern's Emily Greek chose to throw home, but the throw was wide, allowing Hensley and Prange to score on the error. Dowling is on second, and M'Kay Gidley is pinch-running for Shipley on third

• Shipman was hit in the leg by a pitch, loading the bases for the first time today. Dowling is up to bat with only one out

• Shipman is at the plate with runners on the corners and one out

• Georgia Southern has a third wild pitch that allows Hensley to advance to third. It was Prange's fourth ball so she's on first with a walk

• Cahalan flies out. Prange up to bat with one our and a runner on second

• Hensley hits the ball hard to right field, advances to second base on a fielding error. Cahalan up to bat

• Faith Hensley leads off the bottom half of the inning

• What looked to be the third out ended up being dropped by the outfielder. That allowed Cahalan and Heivilin to score. 3-0 Alabama

• Chahalan earns her second walk, giving Alabama runners at the corners with Prange up to bat

• Hensley flies out. Cahalan gets her second at-bat of the game with two outs for Alabama

• Preuitt grounds out while Heivilin advances to third base. Faith Hensley steps up to the plate

• Heivilin gets into scoring position by stealing second

• Heivilin hits a single to center field.  Larissa Preuitt is up to bat

• Kali Heivilin leads off for Alabama

Top 2

• Three up, three down again for Alex Salter. The final two batters grounded out and flew out, respectively

• Conklin strikes out, making it four straight Ks for Alex Salter

• Janai Conklin will leadoff the inning for Georgia Southern
