TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— This weekend was not a good one for Auburn fans.

After the Alabama men's basketball team escaped the Plains with a win, the women's team blew out the Tigers at home, 69-46, sweeping the season series.

Brittany Davis led all scorers with 18 points and 17 rebounds, one of four players in double figures. Aaliyah Nye scored nine of her 11 points in the second quarter. Sarah Ashlee Barker and Ryan Cobbins had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Auburn's Kaitlyn Richardson scored a team-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds. Aicha Coulibaly scored 13 points, but it took her 20 shots to do so.

Both teams struggled in the first quarter, as both combined to shoot 1-for-10 on 3-pointers, and made nine turnovers. 

Alabama ended the quarter with the 11-8 lead, but the offense picked up exponentially, scoring 20 and 21 points in the second and third quarter while holding Auburn to 13 in both.

With the win, Alabama improved to 19-6 and 8-4 in SEC play, and extended its winning streak in the series to nine games. The Tigers slipped to 13-11, 3-9 SEC.  

Alabama's next game will be at home against Vanderbilt. Tipoff is Thursday at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
