Live Updates: No. 13 Alabama Softball vs. No. 21 Auburn Game 2

Crimson Tide looks for doubleheader sweep of in-state rival.

The Alabama offense did its job in Game 1 of Saturday's SEC doubleheader against Auburn, scoring six runs to take the 6-1 win.

Montana Fouts did the rest, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts.

Now, Alabama looks to inch closer to a series sweep in Game 2. Alex Salter is in the circle for Alabama. She will duel with Auburn ace Maddie Penta, who has a 19-5 record and a 1.03 ERA. Salter is 6-2 with a 2.43 ERA.

Missing from the lineup is leadoff hitter Ashley Prange. She tweaked her foot last week and aggravated it in Game 1 against Auburn. 

Jenna Johnson gets the leadoff duties and Lauren Esman takes over at first base as Emma Broadfoot moves to third to take Prange's spot.

The game starts at 3 p.m. and is televised by SEC Network.

• Bama can't get anything going with Penta in the circle. A 1-2-3 inning keeps the score 4-1 Auburn.

• Salter gets a strikeout to end the threat. Auburn leading 4-1.

• Icess Tresvik with a two-out double. Right fielder Larissa Preuitt misjudged it and the ball gets over her head.

• Ally Shipman gets on base with an Auburn error, but Bailey Dowling grounds out to end the inning. Bama with one hit through three innings.

• Salter shuts down the heart of Auburn's order 1-2-3.

• Alabama goes down 1-2-3. Going to be tough for Alabama hitters against Auburn's Penta. 

Top 2nd Auburn

• Auburn with a run on a hit and an error. Auburn on top 4-1.

• Sac fly gives Auburn another run. Tigers up 4-1.

• A walk gives Auburn runners on first and third, no outs. Not a good start for Alabama

• Close play at first but runner Makayla Packer is safe with an infield hit, the Tigers' third of the game. She steals second and advances to third on the error.

Bottom 1st Alabama

• Alabama gets a run on one with and an error to get a run across.

• Shipman out at second on a steal attempt, Dowling strikes out, but Cahalan comes through with an RBI single to put Alabama on the board. Auburn leads 3-1.

• Johnson ruled safe. Alabama with runners on first and third, no outs. 

• An Auburn error puts Bailey Dowling on first. Johnson takes third on the play, but it's under review. The play was really close

• Jenna Johnson gets a four-pitch walk to start it off for Alabama.

Top 1st Auburn

• Final out made, but Auburn with a 3-0 lead early.

• An error by Cahalan at shortstop keeps the inning going for Auburn with runners on first and second. It's costly, as Denver Bryant crushes a pitch over the left-field wall for a three-run homer. She also homered in Game 1. Auburn up 3-0.

• Not so fast. After a review it's ruled the runner is safe at first. You can imagine how well that sits with Alabama fans. 

• No worries as Salter gets a flyout and a 6-4-3 double play from Canleigh Cahalan, Bailey Dowling and Lauren Esman to get out of the inning.

• Auburn gets it started with a dribbler to third base. It's not pretty but it's a base hit for the Tigers.
