Live Updates: No. 14 Alabama Softball at Mississippi State (Game 3)

The Crimson Tide is going for its first SEC sweep of the season with Montana Fouts in the circle against the Bulldogs.

For the third straight weekend, Alabama has won the first two games of a conference series. Will Sunday's finale at Mississippi State be the Crimson Tide's first sweep.

Alabama has already clinched the series, thanks to a strong pitching performance from Alex Salter and big day at the plate from Jenna Johnson in the 6-0 win over the Bulldogs in Game 2. Johnson also had what proved to be the game-winning RBI in the seventh inning of the 4-3 win in Game 1. On the weekend, Johnson is hitting 5-7 with three RBIs.

Patrick Murphy is going with the same batting order for the third day in a row after the Crimson Tide has had two of its better offensive performances in SEC play over the last two games.

Montana Fouts is back in the circle after the complete-game performance on Friday. She has won her last five SEC starts, averaging 12 strikeouts per game in those wins.

Depending on other results around the league Sunday, Alabama could move into a tie for third place with a win over Mississippi State.

First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m., and for the first time this weekend, the game will be on SEC Network.
