Live Updates: No. 9 Alabama Softball vs. Longwood

Crimson Tide has scored 19 runs over last three games and allowed no runs.

Jaala Torrence got the weekend off to hot start, throwing a six-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win against Robert Morris at the Crimson Classic at Rhoads Stadium.

The No. 9 Crimson Tide has pitched three straight shutouts and looks for more in a matchup with Longwood in the second game of the Classic on Saturday.

In the circle is Montana Fouts (7-1). She's allowed 15 runs in 49 innings with 81 strikeouts and a 2.14 ERA.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

• Longwood gets its first baserunner since the first inning courtesy of a leadoff walk.

• Fouts sets down the order for another clean inning. Sure, it's non-conference play, but Alabama's allowed just seven hits and zero runs in its last 22 innings. That includes a no-hitter by Jaala Torrence earlier today against Robert Morris.

• Side note: Alabama has a wide range of walk-up music. We've got old school with AC/DC and Conway Twitty and today's music with Dutch DJ Tiësto.

• Ally Shipman with a walk and later a stolen base. However, she would have been toast if the pitch to the plate wasn't five feet outside. A normal pitch and the catcher would have mowed her down at second.

• Another 1-2-3 inning and two more strikeouts for Fouts. That's seven through three innings. Alabama leads 4-0.

• Cahalan delivers with a two-run single to right field to make it a 4-0 Bama lead. The pitching change did no help matters for Longwood.

• A Larissa Preuitt grounder to second is booted by Longwood. Two runs score.

• Back-to-back walks has the bases loaded for Alabama. And that brings a pitching change. Maggie Chapin is out and Er'ron Burton is in. One out.

• Fantastic catch by Longwood third baseman Korynna Anderson for the out on line-drive shot by Kali Heivilin, but it's ruled an illegal pitch. Instead, Heivilin walks. Lucky break for Bama.

• Something to keep watch on: Montana Fouts entered the day No. 3 in the nation with 81 strikeouts. She's 10 behind UCLA's Megan Faraimo. Marshall's Sydney Nester is second with 82. Fouts struck out the side in the second to give her five today and 86 for the season.

• Ashley Prange gets a one-out walk. She's stranded there. But Bailey Dowling gave comes about two feet from knocking the ball out of the park. Instead, she flies out to deep left field.

• An infield hit to start the game for Longwood. Runner called out for leaving early on a steal attempt. Montana Fouts gets out of the inning 1-2-3.
