No. 13 Alabama Softball Falls to No. 3 Tennessee in Series Opener

The Crimson Tide dropped its first matchup with the Lady Volunteers this weekend.

Game 1 of the highly-anticipated series between No. 13 Alabama and No. 3 Tennessee didn't go the Crimson Tide's way.

The Lady Volunteers won 5-1 on Friday night.

Tennessee led 5-0 going into the seventh inning. That's when Bailey Dowling hit a home run to avoid the shutout.

Alabama only picked up three hits in the entirety of the game.

Montana Fouts pitched all six innings, allowing five runs on seven hits. She walked one and struck out six.

Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
