Alabama No Longer Fourth in any of the Polls

Crimson Tide's latest ranking in line with the College Football Playoff Committee
Alabama Athletics

As they say in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, we have an accord — or at least a consensus.

The polls are all now in agreement with the College Football Playoff rankings, that the top four teams in the nation are LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia, with Alabama lurking at No. 5.

The Crimson was fourth last week in the polls, but Georgia was rewarded for its 21-14 victory at Auburn, and moved up.

Alabama's turn on the Plains comes in two weeks, while Georgia still has to face No. 1 LSU in the SEC Championship Game.

The Crimson Tide won at Mississippi State 38-7, but lost starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the season due to a hip injury.

Nevertheless, Alabama extended its record for consecutive weeks in the top five of the AP Top 25 to 67, dating back to Nov. 8, 2015. The second-longest streak of top-five appearances is Miami, which had 55 from Oct. 8, 2000-Oct. 26, 2003.
