Photos from Alabama Football's Second Week of Spring Practice
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama football was back on the Thomas Drew Practice Fields for its second practice of the week Thursday afternoon under sunny skies in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide is in week two of five of spring football practice, which will culminate April 22 with the A-Day game.
"We've had five practices now," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said after practice. "We are making progress. This has been a great opportunity for a lot of young players. Everybody knows we have 26 mid-year guys plus we have a significant number of guys that aren't participating in the spring due to injury which creates even more opportunity for those guys. We continue to try and coach everybody on the team, 1s and 3s, 2s and 4s on another field so that everybody's getting coached. Everybody's getting an opportunity.
"We got a long way to go. We got a lot of guys that don't have a lot of confidence in what to do. Don't have a lot of confidence in how we do it and don't have a lot of understanding in why it's important to do it that way. But that's why we need to practice. Hopefully we can focus on what we need to do to develop and improve and not be so consumed about the outcome that we have. I'm not pleased with where we are. I'm not disappointed in where we are. I think it's a work in progress that we gotta keep grinding through each and every day."
The team's official Twitter account also released a short video from practice of wide r Ja'Corey Brooks making a catch in the corner of the end zone over defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry. With the quarterback battle still in full swing, the clip does not reveal who threw the pass.
However, Jalen Milroe all but confirmed on his personal Twitter later that it was him who threw the pass. There was a picture of Milroe lined up with Isaiah Bond and Jermaine Burton at wide receiver from practice, and a snapshot of Ty Simpson as well.
