SEC Softball Tournament Live Updates: No. 5 Alabama vs. No. 4 Arkansas

Score and start time updates as the Crimson Tide takes on the Razorbacks in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.

It's going to be another long night for Alabama softball.

After finishing up Wednesday night's game after 11:20 p.m. in the 7-2 win over Missouri, weather delays once again affected play at the SEC Tournament Thursday.

The 5-seed Crimson Tide is set to take on the host team and 4-seed Arkansas Razorbacks in the quarterfinals Thursday night. The game will take place on SEC Network approximately 35 minutes after the conclusion of the quarterfinal game between No. 10 South Carolina and No. 2 Georgia.

Alabama (39-17, 14-10 SEC) and Arkansas (38-16, 14-10 SEC) met for a three-game regular season series back in March in Tuscaloosa. It was the Crimson Tide's first SEC series of the season. After a complete-game shutout from Montana Fouts in game one, Alabama dropped the next two games, including a 10-inning marathon in the finale between the last two SEC Pitchers of the Year (Fouts and Arkansas' Chenise Delce.) Fouts threw 173 pitches in that game, but got just one run of support in the 2-1 loss.

Alabama's ace threw nearly 130 pitches in the complete-game win over Missouri Wednesday night, but pitching on back-to-back nights is nothing new for Fouts. She will likely be back in the circle against Arkansas with a spot to the semifinals on the line as the Crimson Tide continues to try and fight for the best NCAA Tournament seeding.

The Razorbacks are the reigning SEC Tournament champions, but the only school to win the tournament title as the host team is Alabama, which it did twice in 2012 and 2021.
