The Extra Point: Draft Potential for Brittany Davis

With the WNBA Draft coming up on Sunday, Brittany Davis looks to be Alabama's second player drafted since 2021

Brittany Davis declared for the upcoming WNBA Draft a few weeks ago, and after her stellar season for Alabama, it will be interesting to see where she lands in the draft.

She is currently ranked as the 35th best prospect, which would be right around the last picks of draft. With there only being 36 picks total in the draft, Davis is seen as a late round selection, but being picked at all would be a monumental achievement for the program.

Alabama has only had one other player drafted since the 2008 season, as Jasmine Walker was the seventh overall pick in the 2021 draft, joining the Los Angeles Sparks.

Davis, a former teammate of Walker's, might not get to join Walker in L.A, but the 2023 All-SEC First Team member might be able to go to the likes of Seattle, Connecticut, Chicago, or Las Vegas. Those teams all have picks around the 30s, and if Davis is on the board there is a good chance one of those teams will take her.

A potential problem for Davis heading into the draft is how deep the SEC was this year. South Carolina might have two-three players go in the top 10 after there incredible season, and the National Champion LSU Tigers should have at least one player selected.

This means that Davis' 17 points-per-game, and seven rebounds-per-game, might get lost in the shuffle of all the other players the SEC had to offer.

With Brittany Davis' career at Alabama coming to an end, her basketball career as a whole might not be over come Monday's WNBA Draft.
