The Wednesday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" heads to L.A., lower Alabama that is, to talk to Mobile Christian School head coach Ronnie Cottrell.

The show kicked off with the latest developments surrounding EA Sports and the newest college football video game.

Is $500 enough money for the college athletes to allow EA to use their name, image and likeness in the new project?

It better be, or else the players will end up with nothing and Gaither tells you why.

We then welcome Cottrell into the program and we kick off our discussion with Deontae Lawson.

Lawson is expected to start at inside linebacker this coming season for the Crimson Tide. Cottrell tells the audience what makes him such a special player, and even compares him to an NFL Hall of Famer.

While the Alabama defense is expecting a big year from Lawson, he's not the only Leopard defender with Crimson Tide ties.

4-star linebacker Sterling Dixon is entering his senior year at Mobile Christian and is right in the middle of the recruiting process.

Dixon, committed to Alabama in December, recently took a visit to LSU. Cottrell details Dixon's ability and discusses where he really stands in his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Cottrell graciously tells the audience about his time as recruiting coordinator at the University of Alabama, and discusses how NIL and the transfer portal have changed the entire landscape of college football.

Check out the episode to find out how Cottrell feels Kevin Steele will help Lawson and if the Tide can hang onto Dixon's December commitment.
