The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral: Episode 26, June 26, 2023

Alabama Crimson Tide basketball and football dominated the conversation on the Monday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral".

The Monday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show" focuses on basketball breaking news and gets your thinking cap on with an Alabama football topic.

First, the news. Alabama super senior Jahvon Quinerly opted to enter the transfer portal on Sunday. How does the Tide respond?

We chronicle what Quinerly means to the Alabama program as he's the most decorated player in the Nate Oats-era.

Does his mid-summer departure indicate anything to Gaither about the rest of the Alabama roster? Where do we predict Quinerly ends up playing his final year of college basketball? How does Oats pivot and fill the vacated roster spot for 2023-24.

Speaking of 2023-24, the Southeastern Conference announced the conference matchups for the upcoming basketball season. The Crimson Tide sees usual home-and-home matchups with Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State on the schedule, but outside of the givens what makes this season unique.

Alabama, arguably, has a favorable conference schedule but that guarantees nothing in the upcoming year.

We flip our conversation to the gridiron and feature a quick highlight on two Crimson Tide recruits. Ryan Williams and Jamie Ffrench are two 2025 wide receivers who dominated at this past weekend's Under Armor Future 50 camp. Gaither envisions a return to the dominant days of the Alabama "Ryde-outs" if the Tide can add Ffrench's commitment to the already secured Williams.

We finish up with a perfect summer debate between some of the best players in the Nick Saban-era. BamaCentral's Chris Walsh already gave you his top-five cornerbacks in the Saban-era, we chime in with a list of our own.

Whose top five do you like better? Which Crimson Tide corner has an underrated legacy amongst his Alabama peers?

Thanks for tuning in each and everyday! Happy birthday mom!
