The state of Alabama made national news on Tuesday as Senator Tommy Tuberville co-authored a bill with West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin focused on regulating name, image and likeness in college athletics.

"The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" spent its Wednesday episode breaking down each aspect of the Protecting Athletes, Schools and Sports (PASS) act and deciphering its intentions along the way.

Senator Tuberville leaned on his experience as a college football coach and authored this bill after months studying the landscape of name, image and likeness. What did the senators get correct in this bill? What was flat out wrong?

Does name, image and likeness need to be reeled in or will the market correct itself over time?

The program pivoted from name, image and likeness and transfer portal talk into the opening of the NFL season. Several Alabama-centric headlines emerged this morning around three quarterbacks along with a long-awaited return to the football field for one former Crimson Tide receiver.

Wednesday's show concluded with a short discussion on Demarcus Riddick. The five-star linebacker from Clanton will make his college commitment at 4 p.m. CT.
