Calvin Ridley Officially Eligible to Apply for Reinstatement
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley is eligible to apply for reinstatement today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022 season for betting on NFL games during the 2021 season.
The former Falcons receiver was traded from Atlanta to Jacksonville on Nov. 1, 2022 for a conditional 2023 fifth-round pick and 2024 fourth-round selection.
The Jaguars finished the 2022 season with an unprecedented 9-8 record, making it to the divisional round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs.
The 26th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft had his best season in 2020, finishing with 90 receptions for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns.
The addition of Ridley could make this team a legitimate threat to the rest of the conference.
The Crimson Tide product joins an up-and-coming receiving core of Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, Marvin Jones Jr. and elite returner Jamal Agnew. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was a Pro Bowl replacement during the 2022 season, but the addition of Ridley makes him a prime candidate to be selected as a starter in next year's game.
Ridley could be the missing piece for Jacksonville to shock the world in 2023.
