Jahmyr Gibbs Runs One of Fastest 40 Times at NFL Combine
The NFL Combine gives players with NFL aspirations an opportunity to impress both on and off the field in front of dozens of pro personnel, including scouts and coaches.
During his media session, former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs touted his versatility and speed as skills that make him one of the best running backs in this year's class. And he had the chance to prove it Sunday afternoon and showed why his speed will benefit one NFL team next fall.
Gibbs ran a blazing 4.36 seconds official 40-yard dash time. It was the second highest among running backs, only behind Texas A&M's Devon Achane, and tied for seventh fastest overall at the 2023 NFL Combine.
He is considered one of the top two running backs in this year's class alongside Texas' Bijan Robinson. The Texas back ran a 4.46 official on Sunday. Gibbs measured in at 5-9, 199 pounds with a 33.5 vertical.
In his lone season with the Crimson Tide, Gibbs ran for 926 yards and seven touchdowns along with 444 yards and three touchdowns receiving. The Georgia Tech transfer was Alabama's leading rusher and third-leading receiver.
Gibbs alongside his other Alabama teammates and NFL Draft hopefuls like Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., Henry To'oTo'o and more will also have the opportunity to perform at Alabama's two Pro Days on March 23 and April 6.
