Raiders Planning to Franchise Tag Josh Jacobs

The all-pro running back out of Alabama was the NFL's rushing leader in 2022.

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs will likely be franchise tagged by Las Vegas, barring they don't reach a deal by Tuesday's deadline, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Jacobs has been with the franchise since being drafted by the then Oakland Raiders in 2019.

The Alabama product had the best season of his career, as the he led the NFL in rushing yards, scrimmage yards, first downs and missed tackles. The all-pro's Week 12 performance is among the greatest of all-time.

The Raiders struggled throughout the 2022 season, but Jacobs made a lot of games. Las Vegas will be looking for a quarterback during the offseason and it's a potential landing spot for four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers next season. Rodgers would reunite with three-time all-pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

A trio of Rodgers, Jacobs and Adams, with Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones on defense could make the Raiders an under-the-radar threat.

However, the Raiders currently have the No. 7 pick in the upcoming draft. There is a possibility that they take whoever remains between quarterbacks Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson.
