TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Postseason baseball is returning to Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Alabama baseball will host a regional in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2006 — when the Crimson Tide also hosted a Super Regional.

Alabama enters the NCAA tournament at 40-19 overall and 16-14 in the SEC. The Crimson Tide finished ninth in the conference and made it to the fourth round of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover for the second consecutive season.

Alabama is in the 64-team field for just the second time since 2014. The Crimson Tide was a No. 3 seed in the Ruston Regional in 2021 under former head coach Brad Bohannon.

Alabama is one of eight hosts from the SEC — Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky and Vanderbilt are all hosting regionals as well.

The Crimson Tide doesn't know what overall seed it is — just that Tuscaloosa will be the host of a double-elimination, four-team field.

The 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show is on Monday at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN2. It is at that time that Alabama will learn who it will face in the regional.
