The Alabama baseball team dominated in the opening weekend of the season, as they swept Manhattan College in three games by a combined score of 30-8. Several players stood out among the Crimson Tide, but shortstop Justin Lebron caught the eye of the entire SEC as he was named the conference's Freshman of the Week on Monday.

Lebron tied for the SEC lead with a .667 batting average during the opening weekend after earning three RBI, two runs and a team-high four walks. Lebron also recorded at least one hit in all three games, including an inside-the-park home run for his first career homer. He is believed to be just the second player in Crimson Tide history to hit an inside-the-parker for his first career homer.

Lebron was also stout on the defensive side of the ball as he logged four putouts and three assists in seven chances while turning a double play.

Lebron aims to continue his hot start to college baseball this week, as the Tide will play in Tuscaloosa, Ala., once again for each of its matchups. On Tuesday, Alabama will host Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m. On Wednesday, Alabama will face Alabama State at 4 p.m. and then Alabama will take on Valparaiso from Friday through Sunday (each at different times).

Every game this week will be broadcast on ESPN+.
