HOOVER, Ala. — Six games.

That's where Alabama baseball's winning streak stands heading into the double-elimination round of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament.

The ninth-seeded Crimson Tide (39-17, 16-14 SEC) defeated No. 8 seed Kentucky 4-0 on Tuesday evening to advance — led by superb performances by Hunter Furtado and Andrew Pinckney.

Now, Alabama has a tall task on its hands — the No. 1 seed Florida Gators. Like the Crimson Tide, the Gators (42-13, 20-10 SEC) are on fire — winning 11 of their last 14 games.

Alabama will go with its ace on the mound against Florida on Tuesday. RHP Luke Holman (7-3, 3.53 ERA) has stepped into that role for the Crimson Tide for the majority of the season. In his last start against Ole Miss on May 18, Holman pitched 6.2 innings — allowing just one run on four hits. He did walk four — but struck out five.

The Gators will turn to RHP Hurston Waldrep (7-3, 4.83 ERA) in their first game of the tournament.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
