Live Updates: No. 16 Alabama Baseball at No. 1 Wake Forest (Super Regional)

It's win-or-go-home for the Crimson Tide in Game 2 of the Winston-Salem Super Regional.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — It's one of the biggest games in recent memory for the Alabama baseball program.

On Sunday afternoon, in Game 2 of the Winston-Salem Super Regional, the Crimson Tide (43-20, 16-14 SEC) faces elimination for the first time this postseason. Wake Forest took a competitive game one, 5-4, setting itself up in an enviable position for Game 2.

With its back against the wall, Alabama has gone with a different pitching arrangement than it is used to. Normally, after Luke Holman comes Garrett McMillan in the weekend rotation.

On Sunday, however, it will be Jacob McNairy (7-2, 3.68 ERA) getting the ball in his first appearance since a masterful 7.2 inning performance in the regional final against Boston College. It will be exactly that performance that the Crimson Tide hopes its veteran right-hander can replicate in a game where defeat is not an option.

Should the Crimson Tide emerge victorious, it would then force a third game in the series on Monday. The winner of that game moves on to Omaha. If Wake Forest wins on Sunday, the Demon Deacons go to Omaha for the first time in more than 60 years.

If Alabama wins two straight games, it is in Omaha at the College World Series for the first time since 1999. The stakes couldn't be higher in Sunday's game.

It's win, or season's end for the Crimson Tide.
