Team USA Baseball announced its 2023 Collegiate National Team Training Camp roster on Tuesday and two Alabama Crimson Tide pitchers were selected to the team.

Sophomore Luke Holman and freshman Alton Davis II are two of 56 non-draft eligible college players trying to make the final 26-man College National Team roster.

The pool of players will compete in a four-game intrasquad series at Cary, N.C. from June 25-28 and the final roster will compete against Chinese Taipei and Japan from June 30-July 12.

Holman has emerged as one of the best pitchers in the Southeastern Conference in 2023, earning the Friday night starting role for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The sophomore has limited batters to just 5.73 hits per 9 innings, ranking eighth nationally and second in the SEC. He's led the Tide with seven wins and tallied a 1.05 WHIP, good for 16th in the nation and third in the SEC.

Davis II has become a shutdown closer for the Crimson Tide, getting stronger and stronger with each outing.

The Hueytown, Ala., native was named to the Freshman All-SEC Team after leading the Tide and coming up in second in the conference in saves with eight. In regional play Davis II struck out four batters across 2.1 innings on two outings to earn a win and a save.
