TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama Crimson Tide has been without true freshman guard Kris Parker for its first two games of the season.

Parker missed the first game with an eye injury, but now, head coach Nate Oats says the staff is considering redshirting the former four-star this season.

"We're in the process of talking about possibly redshirting Kris," Oats said. "Get stronger, get better at some things — I think he's got a chance to be really good."

"We're in the process of that. He had the injury, he's healed from the injury. He's practicing but we're in the process of talking through that right now."

Parker is a 6-foot-9, 195-pound guard from Tallahassee, Fla. He was the No. 10 prospect from the state of Florida, averaging 24.8 points, 14.2 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 2.4 blocks per game during his senior year at Crossroad Academy.

Alabama (2-0) hosts South Alabama (1-1) on Tuesday night at Coleman Coliseum.
