NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Alabama basketball had a quick exit from the 2024 SEC Tournament, falling 102-88 to the 6-seed Florida Gators in the quarterfinals on Friday night.

At the start of the game, it looked like the Crimson Tide came to play. Alabama started up 8-0 in the first two minutes of the game and had all the momentum and all of the energy, but it didn't last.

Florida stormed back, coming back and eventually taking a 15-point lead at halftime after a massive 21-2 run to end the half.

Alabama struggled to find a rhythm offensively once again, which has become a common thread during the team's slide at the end of the season. The Crimson Tide made just 6-of-25 attempts from beyond the arc, and shot below 50 percent from the floor as a team.

Mark Sears led the team in scoring once again, ending up with yet another 20-point game, but doing so on 7-of-16 shooting and many of his points coming once the game was already out of hand.

Alabama now awaits its fate from the selection committee, which will reveal the 2024 NCAA Tournament bracket on Sunday night. The Crimson Tide is projected to be a 4-seed, and all signs point to that not changing even after its loss.
