TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball will be at the center of the college basketball world a week from today, as ESPN's College GameDay will come to Coleman Coliseum for the first time in the television program's history.

It's a significant step into the national spotlight for Nate Oats' program, who has gone from an afterthought in the college basketball world to one of the winningest programs in both the SEC and the country during his tenure.

GameDay will feature the matchup between the No. 13 Crimson Tide and No. 5 Tennessee as the game of the week in the sport. The two teams met once this season already back in January, with the Volunteers winning convincingly in Knoxville.

Alabama currently sits alone at the top of the SEC standings, boasting an 11-2 record in conference play. Tennessee trails just one game behind at 10-3 in lone second place. The winner of the rivalry matchup on March 2 will be in the driver's seat for coming away with the SEC regular season crown.

The Crimson Tide is chasing its third SEC regular season title in four seasons, an unprecedented run of success for the Alabama basketball program.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff, and Alabama fans are being encouraged to wear white to participate in a white-out across the arena.

College GameDay will air on ABC live from Coleman Coliseum the morning of March 2, running for one hour from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. CT, featuring host Rece Davis, alongside analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg, Jay Williams and Andraya Carter.
