Alabama basketball established itself as a contender in the SEC on Wednesday night with its monster victory over No. 8 Auburn, and now it has the chance to continue its momentum in a weekend tilt with LSU.

The Tigers, under second-year head coach Matt McMahon, have had an up-and-down season so far in 2024. After losing to Nicholls State early in the year, LSU started off conference play with a 2-0 record. Since then, the Tigers have lost three of four, and currently sit at an even 3-3.

LSU received a massive boost midseason when guard Jalen Cook was ruled eligible after missing the first 10 games of the season. He has averaged 15 points per game since his debut.

The metrics aren't incredibly high on LSU. KenPom rates the Tigers at No. 81, while they sit at No. 91 in the NET. Their highest quality win so far this season is a 15-point road victory at Texas A&M.
