How to Watch: Alabama Men's Basketball Plays Purdue in Toronto
Have you noticed that there's a new Godzilla movie? Maybe it's a coincidence.
Saturday afternoon, Alabama basketball will meet up with the biggest of college basketball's big man, Zach Edey, the 7-foot-4, 305-pound center who has helped make Purdue a national title contender.
He's averaging 27.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game.
Last season, he averaged 22.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.5 assists per game, while shooting 60.7 percent from the field and 73.4 percent from the free-throw line, while sweeping all six major National Player of the Year Awards: The Wooden Award, The Naismith Award, The Big O Trophy (USBWA), NABC National Player of the Year, the AP National Player of the Year and The Sporting News National Player of the Year.
This will also be a homecoming game for the senior, who will play a game in Toronto for the first time since his sophomore year in high school (2017-18 season). When the game was scheduled in April, Alabama's Charles Bediako was also aiming to return home and play again in Toronto, but he opted for the NBA Draft (he wasn't selected, but agreed to a deal with the San Antonio Spurs and made the team).

• The Crimson Tide’s (6-2) matchup against the Boilermakers (8-1) is the first of three straight matchups where Alabama will face a top-10 opponent in No. 4 Purdue, at No. 10 Creighton and vs. No. 1 Arizona (Phoenix, Ariz.).
• The Boilermakers are wrapping up a nine-game stretch in which it played Xavier (4 seed in 2023 NCAAs), Gonzaga (ranked No. 11), Tennessee (ranked No. 7), Marquette (ranked No. 4), Texas Southern (2023 NCAA Tournament), Northwestern (2nd rd. in 2023 NCAA Tournament), Iowa (2023 NCAA Tournament), Alabama (1 seed in NCAA Tournament) and Arizona (currently ranked No. 1). Purdue is 6-1 in those games so far.
