TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama basketball's 2024 recruiting class is one of the best in the country, currently ranking in the top-10 according to all major recruiting services.

On Tuesday afternoon, two of the Crimson Tide's three signees, 5-stars Aiden Sherrell and Derrion Reid, were selected to be participants in the 2024 McDonald's All-America game.

"They're really good players. We're super excited to get them both year," Alabama head coach Nate Oats said. "It's supposed to be the 24 best players in high school basketball, it's nice to have two of them. You have more talent, it's easier to be a really good coach, easier to win games."

The McDonald's All-America game is a yearly all-star game for the top high school basketball prospects in the country. This year, the game will take place on April 2 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

Alabama has now signed five McDonald's All-Americans out of high school since Nate Oats arrived in Tuscaloosa. Sherrell and Reid join Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley from the class of 2022, and JD Davison from the class of 2021.

Oats credited his new staff, who had to replace all three assistants who began the recruitments of Sherrell and Reid to Alabama, for being able to finish the job and bring them in.

"Our assistants did a great job," Oats said. "We were on both of these guys with the previous assistants, and they got handed off to the new assistants, who were able to close it. We've been on both these guys for a long time."

Alabama's 2024 recruiting class also features Naas Cunningham, who wasn't named a McDonald's All-American but is considered to be a top-50 recruit in the class.
