The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame released its ballot for induction into the 2024 class of the College Football Hall of Fame on Monday.

The ballot includes 78 former players and nine coaches from the NCAA's Football Bowl Subdivision.

Inclusion on the ballot is honor enough as  there are numerous requirements to be met to be considered in the College Football Hall of Fame.

A player must have been recognized as a First Team All-American by an outlet recognized by the NCAA.

Players must wait 10 years after their final season of play to be considered.

An athlete's life and character off the field are taken into account.

Athletes must have played within the last 50 years, making 1973 this season's cut-off.

Alabama's most recent induction came in 2022 in former player and coach Sylvester Croom.

The Alabama Crimson Tide only had one nominee on the the 2024 ballot.

Antonio Langham, Cornerback, 1990-93: Langham was a shutdown corner for the Crimson Tide in the early 90s. He's most known for saving the SEC Championship game by intercepting Florida's Shane Matthews in the waining moments of the inaugural conference title matchup.

Langham won the Jim Thorpe award in 1993 and was named unanimous First Team All-American.

Former Alabama stars Chris Samuels and Shaun Alexander were dropped from the 2023 ballot.

The ballot had several interesting nominees including current Tennessee head football coach Josh Heupel from his playing days at Oklahoma.

Notably, current Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville was named to the ballot for his coaching contributions at Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech and Cincinnati. Tuberville was the 2004 National Coach of the Year.

Lastly, Larry Blakeney, the all time winningest coach in Sun-Belt history made the ballot. Blakeney coached at Troy from 1991-2014 making seven playoff appearances along with four bowl games.
