TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Four years ago, Alabama's Will Reichard arrived to campus as the top-rated kicker in the country, hailing from football powerhouse Hoover.

Alongside him was Amelia Auchmuty, his high school sweetheart.

A national championship and a few broken records later, the couple tied the knot in January — both standing as graduates of the University of Alabama.

After originally declaring for the NFL draft in December of 2022, Reichard announced on Jan. 3 that he would instead be returning to Alabama for his fifth year — hoping to capture another title after falling short in back-to-back seasons.

Newly wed, Reichard now faces a unique challenge — balancing married life with being a student athlete.

"Yeah, obviously a big life change," Reichard said. "We moved in together, so that's been a little bit different. I've been enjoying it for sure. It's been awesome. You know, being in camp, we actually got to move out of the dorms. We had been in there for two weeks. So excited to go home and see her at night, spend some more time with her, but yeah, it's been awesome. One of the biggest, best decisions I've ever made in my life for sure."

As for returning to Alabama, Reichard isn't letting past success stop him from living in the moment.

"Every season is a new challenge," Reichard said. "Every season is different. You got new players, you got new coaches, so I'm excited for the challenge and the journey we're going to be on this season."
