It's award season for the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide as the Southeastern Conference puts a bow on its season.

The SEC office announced on Wednesday seven individual awards for the 2023 football season. The Alabama Crimson Tide were well represented as they brought home three of them. Missouri claimed two awards, the only other school with multiple representatives. These awards were voted on by the 14 coaches in the conference.

Alabama's Dallas Turner was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year by the conference. Turner recorded 50 tackles with 13.5 for a loss and nine sacks on the season. He also had 13 quarterback hurries with two forced fumbles and one pass breakup as he was a menace off the edge of the Crimson Tide defense, not only accumulating stellar numbers, but rising up and making big plays in key moments.

Graduate student Will Reichard was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Year after becoming the NCAA's all-time leader in points scored. He tallied 113 points in 2023 after converting 20-23 field goals and 53 extra points for the SEC Champions.

Caleb Downs was named SEC Freshman of the Year after finishing fourth in the league with 99 tackles and has been involved in four turnovers this season while also stepping into the punt returning duties.
