LEXINGTON, Ky. — Sophomore cornerback Terrion Arnold may have had the best game of his Alabama football career on Saturday. But what did he want to talk about following the 49-21 victory at Kentucky? His other mom.

That would be Terry Saban, Nick Saban's wife.

“My relationship with Miss Terry, I would say she’s almost like a second mom," he said. "One thing I would say, when I came here, it wasn’t fake. And it hasn’t been fake since I’ve been here. She really cares about all of us, and she does a really, really good job of displaying it. Honestly, Coach Saban and her are the type of people that would give you the shirt off their back.

“People don’t really get a chance to have a close relationship with them because they think like, ‘Aw man, that’s Nick Saban.’ But in the secondary, that’s our coach. Like, ‘coach me coach.’ Even the situation that happened at Mississippi State game with him yelling at me, it’s a testament to that’s why you come here."

Alabama was playing without safety Jaylen Key against Kentucky, causing an adjustment that resulted in more than one player taking on new roles. The Crimson Tide had a miscue in the secondary for one of the touchdowns, but Nick Saban still praised the group as a whole.

"I was really pleased with the way the guys that filled in today," he said.

Arnold finished with four tackles, all solo, including one for loss, with an interception, a forced fumble and a hurry. The turnover set up a first-half touchdown.

We're guessing Miss Terry was pretty pleased with his performance. Arnold said she texts him words of encouragement every Sunday.

“I would say my relationship with Miss Terry is second to none," he said. "And I love her. We’ll have that lifelong relationship.”
