Crissy Froyd of Cowbell Corner on The Joe Gaither Show

A preview of the Mississippi State Bulldogs on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 91: Sept. 28, 2023.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is heading to Starkville for its first SEC road game of the season this weekend to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Thursday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" is honored to welcome Crissy Froyd into the show to talk about the Bulldogs and what life has been like under first-year head coach Zach Arnett.

Mississippi State started off the season with two victories, but has lost its last two against SEC opponents. What has plagued the Bulldogs?

Froyd details the changes on the offensive side of the football under new offensive coordinator Kevin Barbay and how that's created challenges for the personnel that was recruited to operate former coach Mike Leach's system.

She had a unique relationship with Leach and discusses how The Pirate influenced her career and her interest in football as we all miss the legendary coach.

Despite losing to South Carolina, quarterback Will Rogers had his best game of the season this past weekend against the Gamecocks. Froyd discusses why that may be and if that can continue this weekend against the Crimson Tide.

The Bulldogs had a strong defense last season, but Mississippi State ranks 95th in total defense and 120th in pass defense through the first four weeks of 2023. What's gone wrong and how should Arnett adjust as the rest of the season transpires?

Froyd is an avid evaluator of quarterbacks and gives her perspective on Alabama's quarterback room, specifically Jalen Milroe. She details the atmosphere at Davis Wade Stadium as the game will kick off at 8 p.m. CT and highlights a spot or two in Starkville that Alabama fans should check out on their trip.
