In this story:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Everyone knows that Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has a close eye on his defensive backs.

Once you remember that Saban was a DB during his playing days, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Saban is known for his attention to detail — and just because he's a head coach doesn't mean he isn't still completely locked in as if he was the Crimson Tide's defensive backs coach.

In fact, even in his 17th season in Tuscaloosa, Saban sits in on every meeting between Alabama's defensive backs and position coaches.

For Crimson Tide defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe, he sees it at favoritism.

“[There’s] always favoritism," Eboigbe said jokingly. "I feel like that’s the reason why they call it DBU. He’s always going to sit in [on] the meetings. No matter what happens, he’s always going to make sure he has an eye on the DBs. That’s the reason why he’s been so successful, that’s the reason a lot of people come here — to be coached by the great assistant coaches that [are] here, and to be personally coached by [Saban].”

It's hard to argue what Eboigbe is saying — as well as Saban's track record.

There are currently 19 defensive backs in the NFL that played at Alabama — all during Saban's tenure.

That's all that needs to be said.
