Grading Tommy Rees on Football Friday on The Joe Gaither Show
It's a football Friday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" and as always we're joined by several members of the BamaCentral staff.
There's no Alabama football game to get into this weekend, but that doesn't stop us from talking about the Tide. We open up the conversation by circling back to earlier in the week and talking about the Alabama punt returner situation. Will it be Kool-Aid McKinstry or will it be Isaiah Bond the next time the Tide plays?
A little unusual history was made in the AHSAA on Thursday night so we talk about the Huffman Vikings and the dismal record they matched this season.
Austin Hannon didn't join us this week but he wrote a wonderful piece on Crimson Tide kicker Will Reichard and his accomplishments for the University thus far. The quartet kicks around Reichard's significance and how much Alabama will miss him when he moves on.
Michigan has been on the brain this week as they are waist-deep in scandal. Just how bad is it for the Maize and Blue? Gaither has given his thoughts throughout the week so it's time for more level heads to chime in. Is it a big deal or has our host been overreacting?
The Alabama off week gives a good time to look back on the first part of the Crimson Tide schedule and talk about first-year offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Rees has been under scrutiny, as all Alabama coordinators are, so we debate how well he's been doing his job up to this point.
What kind of grade do you give the Alabama signal caller?
Lastly we make our picks for the weekend as the SEC slate looks a little bit boring without Alabama on it this week and there's one juicy Pac-12 game that's also on our minds.
